Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah

One of the longest-running television series, “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah” is a Hindi sitcom on the Sony network. The title of the show translates to the inverted glasses of Taarak Mehta, as the show is based on the column “Duniya Ne Undha Chashma” written by Taarak Mehta from the Gujrati weekly magazine, “Chitralekha”. Produced by Neela Tele Films, the pilot episode of the series was aired in July 2008 on SAB TV. Most of the episodes revolve around Jethalal getting into various troubles and how the members of Gokuldam society help him resolve them.The plot of the serial is set in the backdrops of a cooperative society called Gokuldam society in Goregaon East, Mumbai. Although many families are living in the society, the show revolves around the lives of eight families. Jethalal Champaklal Gada is portrayed by veteran comedian Dilip Joshi. Jethalal, his wife Daya, his son Tapu and his father CHampaklal live in the B-wing of the complex. Former Bengali dancer, Babita and his husband Krishnan Subramaniyam Iyer reside in C-wing. Goli and his parents, Dr Hansraj Hathi and Komal live in A-wing, along with society secretary, Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide, his wife Madhavi and daughter Sonalika. A-wing of the complex also houses Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi and his family. Patrakaar Popatlal Bhagwatiprasad Pandey who is a crime reporter lives in C-wing.This multi cast series is a light-hearted comedy for the entire family, which focuses on the diversity of our country and bring out the unique flavour through its delightful dialogues and exchanges between the cast.
